As a new student beginning your journey here, we would like to direct your attention to the entrance awards that we have to offer. Some awards will be automatically applied based on your admission average, others will require an application.Application Required
The University of Winnipeg President's Scholarship for World Leaders
Application is now closed for the Fall/Winter 2013-14 academic year. Check back in December 2013 for details on the program for the next academic session.
Who is Eligible?
International students who are entering any of the Universitys divisions for
the first time Undergraduate, Graduate, Collegiate, Professional, Applied and
Continuing Education (PACE) or English Language Program (ELP).
Value:
- Undergraduate $2,000
- Graduate $5,000
- ELP $1,000
- PACE $2,000
- Collegiate $2,000
Can I Defer this Scholarship?
These awards cannot be deferred. Students who are successful in
receiving an application-required entrance award, must register in
studies in the session for which the award was offered.
The University of Winnipeg Entrance Scholarships

Who is Eligible?
All students who are "new" to The University of Winnipeg and have not taken credits or completed a degree here before.
Value:
Non-renewable awards: $200 - $5,000
Renewable awards: $10,000 - $40,000
Can I Defer this Scholarship?
These awards cannot be deferred. Students who are successful in receiving an application-required entrance award, must register in studies in the session for which the award was offered.
Automatic
Special Entrance Scholarships
The Special Entrance Scholarships are automatically offered to all Grade 12 graduating students coming directly from a high school in Canada, and to international students from the United States, or those studying Canadian curriculum abroad. All students must meet the conditions below. These scholarships are offered without the necessity of a scholarship application.
Who is Eligible?
- Have at
least an 80% final Grade 12 award average (see below for the calculation)
- Apply for admission to the University by March 1
- Enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the Fall/Winter.
For all students (Arts, Business and Economics, Kinesiology, Education, and Science), the scholarship average is calculated based on the following:
- Best 40S English (Comprehensive Focus, Literary Focus or Transactional Focus), and
- Best 40S Math (Pre-Calculus, Applied Math or Essential/Consumer Math), and
- One other 40S credit.
When will I get notification?
Students studying in Canada will receive Conditional Special Entrance Scholarship offers based on interim Grade 12 grades in May (early June for students applying to the Education program). In July, once final Grade 12 grades have been received, all students (Domestic & International) will be notified of their final scholarship value.

The value is determined in the following way:
95% or Higher $2,250
90-94.9% $1,750
86-89.9% $1,100
80-85.9% $800
- The value of the Special Entrance Scholarships will be determined based on final Grade 12 grades.
- Conditional Special Entrance Scholarship offers will be sent to students studying in Canada only, and will be subject to change based on final Grade 12 grades.
- International students studying a Canadian curriculum outside of Canada will only be sent a final Special Entrance Scholarship offer in July.
- All Entrance awards will be applied directly to your 2013-14 Fall/Winter session tuition fees.
