Dr. Anuraag Shrivastav
Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death despite the fact that it is ninety percent preventable if detected early. Dr. Anuraag Shrivastav, Professor of Biology, is conducting research devoted to the study of cell signaling pathways. These pathways provide clues about the onset and progression of human cancers, allowing researchers to identify potential biomarkers for the detection of cancer. Currently Dr. Shrivastav and his team are developing a prototype blood test that would red flag which patients should receive more tests, such as colonoscopy. This earlier detection could improve clinical outcomes for those facing colorectal cancer.
