There is no better example of the vibrancy and innovation of research conducted at The University of Winnipeg than this new edition of Research Profiles. Thirty faculty and five students are highlighted in the report which describes an astonishing range of research. The University of Winnipeg, already involved in research in a wide variety of disciplines, is also reaching out into inter-disciplinary research and scholarship. Faculty engaged in pioneering research that crosses traditional academic borders are discovering innovative approaches to some of society’s most complex and challenging problems.

The faculty’s inter-disciplinary and multidisciplinary achievements are both enhancing cutting-edge research and scholarship and enriching and are informing classroom teaching. Undergraduate and graduate students are benefiting from a rapidly expanding array of opportunities to participate directly in the creation of new knowledge. The top priority for the Office of Research is to support The University of Winnipeg faculty in building and maintaining some of the world’s very best research programs by engaging the faculty, developing premier multidisciplinary research collaborations and consortia and providing excellent support services.
