Fatima Bahir


Fatima Bahir was born in Kabul Afghanistan during the pro-soviet regime and witnessed the 1980s and early 1990s civil war. In her early teens, her family immigrated to Pakistan where she went to high school and learned English. Later, Fatima came to Canada for post-secondary education through a private sponsorship agency and completed a bachelor's degree from Brandon University. Currently, she works in the International Office at The University of Winnipeg.

Fatima has a great interest in immigrant issues and has worked with community and non-for-organizations such as the International Centre of Winnipeg and World University Service of Canada as a member and a student refugee program coordinator.
