The Circle of Courage: Working with At-Risk Students
It is easy to get discouraged and lost in the problems and challenges that youth can present. We can find ourselves quietly retreating or erupting in a "neural hijacking" when hurt and hurting youth reject what we do "to" them or "for" them. With an understanding of basic human brain programs, adults can learn to better nurture by gazing at strengths as they learn to work "with" others.
