Alan Wiebe has varied experience in the public school system as regular classroom teacher, alternative program coordinator, and school counsellor. He is currently working at The University of Winnipeg in the Faculty of Education, where he coordinates mentorship projects and student teacher placements, as well as teaching a course entitled "Issues with At Risk Children and Youth."
