OmniTRAX/Broe Quest Series

Diane Plamondon

Teacher, Collège Jeanne-Sauvé

Diane Plamondon, a teacher at Collège Jeanne-Sauvé, works with a group called Students Without Borders – Afrique 2007. This is a three-year sustainable development program with 70 students, parents, and teachers who will travel to Mbour, Senegal in January 2007 to work with their partners in their continuing efforts in the areas of education, health, and micro-economy.

To date, this group has raised $50,000 for these projects plus shipped a value of another $50,000 in medical supplies and equipment. The funds have to date permitted 50 students to go to school for the first time, developed 35 new teachers, supported 65 adults in literacy & business programs, built one of two community centers, and begun work on a computer lab for a local school. It’s just a beginning in their efforts to earn Global Citizenship.
