Lorne Belmore
Principal, Children of the Earth School
Lorne Belmore was born and raised in the Inner City / North End sections of Winnipeg. Upon his hiring he began consistently working with at risk populations within the Winnipeg School Division.
After teaching at various schools in the division, including Stony Mountain Institution, he returned to North Winnipeg teaching and administrating at St. John's High School for eight years. He then became the vice principal of Norquay Elementary for two years, and has been the principal of Children of the Earth High School for the last five years.
Belmore's current community commitments include sitting on various organizational boards of directors and being the chair of the St. John's Mini Area and chair of the North Winnipeg School Resource Officer program.
