C. D. James Paci (Chris) holds an interdisciplinary PhD from University of Manitoba (Zoology, History, Natural Resources Institute, 2000). His PhD examined the interaction of science and traditional knowledge, environmental history, and comanagement for a threatened species (lake sturgeon) in Manitoba. Dr. Paci completed a Master's at the School of Canadian Studies, Carlton University and an undergraduate degree from University of Winnipeg. Dr. Paci accepted a posting with the University of Northern British Colombia to develop community-based curriculum for the First Nations Studies Programme. Dr. Paci has published in various academic journals and has written numerous book reviews. Dr. Paci has been the Manager of Lands and Environment for Dene Nation for four years, Advisor to Arctic Athabaskan Council for three years, and is a member of the University of the Arctic (both a Roving Faculty member and a member of the Indigenous Issues Standing Committee).
