Terry MacLeod

Host
Information Radio 990 on CBC Radio One

Terry MacLeod has been hosting Information Radio 990 on CBC Radio One in Winnipeg since 1993. Not by nature an early riser, Terry has found that getting up at a time usually favoured by vampires and muggers has allowed him to talk each day on the radio with Manitoba's most remarkable people.

Since leaving P.E.I. with his BA (Psych) rolled under his arm, Terry has lived and worked across much of this fair land, including Waterloo, Lake Louise, Vancouver, Thunder Bay, Arctic Quebec, the Eastern Townships, Toronto and (in that other fair land) Boulder, Colorado.

He has studied mime, painted tugboats, done social work, parked cars, been the village gardener of North Hatley, Que., made video art, and acted in a comedia del arte theatre company.

Terry taught for the WaWaTa and Taqrimuit Nipingat native radio networks and started with CBC Radio in Thunder Bay in 1985. He has produced and guest hosted Peter Gzowski's "Morningside" and "Morningside in the Summer", hosted CBC Toronto's "Metro Morning" and guest hosted "As It Happens." He has also been a contributor to "The Latest Morningside Papers" and for five years was the mainstage host of the National Milton Acorn Poetry Festival. Last year, he learned to skate.
