- Opportunity Fund Bursaries for critical needs such as emergency child care, food, shelter and access to funds for students who are under-represented at university
- Community Capacity Building through means such as micro-financing for new community-based enterprises.
Roblin Scholars Fund
Named in honour of former Manitoba Premier, The Honorable Duff Roblin, the Duff Roblin Scholars Fund supports graduate study in The University of Winnipeg’s new Master’s program in Indigenous Governance. It provides a lasting tribute that will enhance higher learning and graduate-level research and meet the specific needs of Indigenous communities in Manitoba.
The Graduate Student Fellowships in Indigenous Governance serve to enhance capacity for effective self-governance within Indigenous communities and also foster awareness among all Manitobans about governance issues pertaining to First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and international indigenous communities.
Up to four Graduate Fellowships are awarded annually to allow students dedicated time to work as research or teaching assistants locally, regionally or internationally. For more information on Indigenous focused academic programs offered at UWinnipeg, please click here.
