Lisa Dixon

"My name is Lisa Dixon; I’m twenty-five years old and from Winnipeg, MB.  I’ve been a student at the University of Winnipeg all throughout my academic career, recently graduating with a four year BA with a major in Indigenous Studies.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my studies at the University of Winnipeg and am excited and honored to continue here at the U of W in the next chapter of my academic career.  After learning about the Master’s in Indigenous Development program, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it.  One of the major aspects of the program that attracted me was the field placements.  Practical experience during the program will be an asset when the program is done and I begin my career as a Development Practitioner. My goal after the program is to stay in Canada and work on issues that brought me to the program. I look forward to the next two years and this new chapter in my academic career."
