The MDP Network

UWinnipeg was awarded a grant by The MacArthur Foundation to establish the MDP specializing in Indigenous Development. UWinnipeg joins a global network of 22 other prominent academic transnational institutions. UWinnipeg has a unique, open and trusting relationship with Indigenous communities. This established relationship enables you to experience two field placements that can link you to Indigenous communities within Canada, in the Americas, and beyond.

The program transcends borders, offering online ’global classrooms’ on sustainable development, where as a UWinnipeg student, you can tap into lectures and resources from the 22 other MDP institutions. It offers you a challenging and innovative blend of theoretical and applied studies. It includes locally delivered courses in a number of disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas which have been created specifically for this degree. It also incorporates opportunities for local, national and international guest lecturers; and for practical case studies and interdisciplinary projects.

UWinnipeg's Global Network includes Columbia University's Earth Institute and other prestigious universities from every continent. (http://grantmap.macfound.org/hosting/mdp/).
