Field Placements
The MDP program includes two field
placements, one which will be domestic and one international. The placement is
intended to foster the students’ knowledge of development practice and the
relationship between classroom analysis and on-the-ground experience.
Through the field placements, students gain a deeper understanding of the cross-disciplinary nature of development, and will work alongside practitioners, community leaders, technical specialists, and community members to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing these communities and their efforts to address them.
Generally, students will be placed in an urban or rural Indigenous community or within a variety of organizations including indigenous ones and organizations that work with indigenous people
