What can you do with laptops in the classroom?
LearningEdge - Laptop Program in Support of Learning
With universities such as Acadia and Wake Forest University supporting the use of laptops by all students, there is a growing body of research available that looks at how laptops can be and are being used in the classroom.
Several academic journals have devoted entire issues to the topic. Here are links to two of them.

- New Directions for Teaching and Learning (Issue 101) 2005.
EDUCAUSE (whose goal is to "advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology") has several pages in its Resource Center containing laptop related resources such as papers published by EDUCAUSE and other academic publications, along with presentations and conference materials. Following are links to two topics from the EDUCAUSE Resource Center that cover mainly laptops.
