IT Resource Security Standards - Access Termination

Access Termination


To the greatest acceptable extent possible, terminating access to IT Resources must act in accordance with the following standards:

  • Termination of access remains the right of the University of Winnipeg, and this right can be exercised at any time and under any circumstances.
  • All privileged access to University IT Resources must be terminated immediately when an employee or authorized third party departs the University.
  • IT Resource owners or respective designates are responsible for maintaining a record of individuals who have privileged access for the purpose of revoking such privileges on short notice.
Any Non-privileged or general access to IT Resources will be maintained by the owner of that resource. The Resource owner shall set their own rules and procedures for how those Resources are to be accessed and used.
