• Human rights professional with 20 years involvement in human rights including 6 years full time international experience in management, activism, needs assessments and project development.
• Work experience with human rights NGOs and IGOs including the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe), Al Haq (Branch of the ICJ) and others
• Award-winning researcher/writer including one book on censorship (Award of Merit, University of Manitoba), 4 books on international human rights documentation methodology as well as articles on information access, human rights, technology, education and other topics
• International public speaker and seminar leader in complex and sensitive situations
• Formal and informal training in a wide range of areas including library, human rights, management, curriculum development and cultural resources management
• Certified teacher with 25 years experience including primary to university post degree levels. Included 15 years of experience working in an inner city high school with a large multicultural and new Canadian population
• Winner of two educational excellence awards (national and provincial)
• Board and committee member (past and current) for human rights, development, educational and library groups. Long standing board involvement (currently Vice-Chair) with HURIDOCS (Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems International) based in Geneva
• Consultations in Korea, Rwanda and elsewhere in 2006
