Dr. Karen Magro

Dr. Karen Magro is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg. My areas of research are in the psychology of teaching and learning, literacy challenges of youth and adults from war affected countries, and transformative learning theory.
Magro has worked as a teacher and consultant in the field of adult education for 25 yeas. She has designed and taught courses in literacy education, adult learning, and development, and transformative learning theory in Canada, the U.S., and in England.
Magro earned her doctorate degree in Adult Education and Applied Psychology at OISE/The University of Manitoba.
