What Happens After You've Applied?

Letter of Acknowledgement

After we have received your complete Application, including the applicable Fee, you can expect to receive a letter of acknowledgement by regular mail within two weeks.

This letter will tell you how to access your University Webmail student account. We may ask you for any outstanding information/documentation through this email account, so be sure to check your Webmail account often!  You can also follow the status of your application online by following these instructions:
Use WebAdvisor to Check your Application Status

In the letter, you’ll also be assigned a Student Number.  The Student Number will be used on all documents, including the official Letter of Acceptance.  Please use it in all your contacts with University offices.

When will I Know if I’ve been Accepted?

High School Applicants - For current High School applicants to the faculties of Arts, Business & Economics, Kinesiology, and Science who expect to graduate in June and plan to come here in September, the earlier you apply, the earlier you will hear from us:

Admission based on Final Grade 11 Transcripts (apply by Dec. 1) - notification end of February
Early Admission (apply Dec 2 - March 1) - notification end of May
Admission (apply March 2 – June 10) - notification mid to late July
Late Admission (apply June 11 – July 2) - notification end of July

Faculty of Education Applicants
- High School applicants to the Faculty of Education who have applied by the deadline of March 1 will receive notification by the end of May.  See Education for more information.

For those NOT coming directly from a Manitoba High School - The acceptance process can vary in length, depending on individual situations and availability of previous course information. It is usually possible to send out acceptance letters within 4-6 weeks.

Programs with specific entrance criteria and/or limited enrolment – including Education and some Applied/Joint Programs - may involve more time as a selection process is carried out at defined times rather than through continuous acceptances.
