Available Positions
Mentor
Mentors work with newcomers to help them adapt to their new home. You can show your student around the community and help them become acquainted with Winnipeg and the University of Winnipeg, while also giving them valuable practice in English conversation. Your job is simply to help your student feel more comfortable here in Canada.
Tutor
Our tutors work one-on-one with students to help them in a wide variety of subjects. Tutors often take on a mentorship role as well, forming close friendships with their students and helping them to overcome the various challenges they face every day. Tutors are in very high demand at the Centre, and we welcome volunteers who can help us in any subject, at any grade level (particularly high school).
Administrative Volunteer
These volunteers help with the day-to-day running and supervision of The Global Welcome Centre. Duties include assisting with our programs and projects, light office duties, assisting participants, or helping to the centre open outside of traditional business hours.
If you would like to sign up as a volunteer, please fill out a Volunteer Registration Form (pdf) and drop it off at the Global Welcome Centre.
