Talk to a Recruiter

Evony EvangelistaEvony Evangelista - Student Recruitment Officer

Recruitment Areas:  Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Calgary

I am not only a proud Winnipegger but a proud Filipina; embracing both my roots and my heritage.  I graduated from St. Boniface Diocesan High School (’05) and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Winnipeg in 2010.  Throughout my years at UWinnipeg, I was involved in various student groups through The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association and worked as a Student Ambassador.

A lot of my time outside of work is spent volunteering, playing sports and traveling the world.  I am a huge fan of plays and musicals and am super excited that the Jets are back in town!  I am extremely happy to be part of the recruitment team because it allows me to attend fairs, visit high schools and meet all sorts of new people while talking about and sharing all the reasons why I love The University of Winnipeg.

Premal ModhaPremal Modha - Student Recruitment Officer

Recruitment Areas: Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba I graduated from Maples Collegiate and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in History at The University of Winnipeg in 2006. During my time at university I had the opportunity to get involved with the Indo-Canadian Students’ Association (ICSA), where I helped plan fundraisers and community events.  I enjoyed my time at The University of Winnipeg so much that I returned in 2009 to pursue a second major in Politics and currently, I am working on the requirements to enter a Master's program in History.

Outside of work I enjoy playing guitar, soccer and going for runs. I am an avid music fan and try to attend as many concerts as I possibly can. Working for UWinnipeg has been a great experience and allows me to actively commute to work! I look forward to working with future students to help them find their place at The University of Winnipeg.

Jenni DaninoJenni Danino - Student Recruitment Officer

Recruitment Areas:  Winnipeg, rural Manitoba and The United States of America

I am a proud graduate ('09) of The University of Winnipeg with a BA in Rhetoric and Communications. As a student, I was involved with The University of Winnipeg Students' Association (UWSA) where I had an incredible time meeting and working with international students. I am a downtown Winnipegger and I make the most out of our fabulous and vibrant city. I am a frequent fringer, avid concert go-er, restaurant and movie connoisseur.

Now, as a Recruitment Officer, I live AND work downtown! I get to visit with future international, rural and adult learner students and discuss their options for coming to university! I travel to rural Manitoba and Minnesota for different career and University fairs, and to give presentations about The University of Winnipeg. I find our downtown campus a fantastic place to be, and hopefully you will too!

Emily FjeldstedEmily Fjeldsted - Student Recruitment Coordinator

Recruitment Areas: Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Germany

In my role as Student Recruitment Coordinator I look for ways to expand and improve the recruitment team’s efforts to support and connect with future students while still visiting schools, attending fairs and meeting with students from various backgrounds to help them find their place at The University of Winnipeg.

A graduate of the French Immersion program at Vincent Massey Collegiate, I went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Modern Languages in Quebec City (’08).  Upon my return to Winnipeg, I settled into a downtown neighbourhood and rediscovered everything that our sunny city has to offer.  Just a 15-minute walk from the UWinnipeg campus, I’m able to take advantage of the University’s top-notch fitness centre and enjoy the unique restaurants, entertainment outlets and shops nearby. The University of Winnipeg, being located in the heart of downtown, is an exciting place to study and I look forward to helping future students discover all that UWinnipeg has to offer!

If you have any questions about student life, programs, applying to The University of Winnipeg or organizing visits/recruitment events, please contact me at: e.fjeldsted@uwinnipeg.ca or 204.786.9764
