Programs with Specific High School Pre-requisites

In order to specialize in some programs at The University of Winnipeg, you need to have completed specific high school courses.  If you are considering any of the areas below as a specialty (or “major”), make sure that you take the required high school courses:  

Applied Computer Science* – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Bioanthropology – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Biochemistry – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Biology* – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Biopsychology – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Business & Administration – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Chemistry* – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Economics* – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Environmental Studies – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S are required for the BSc; Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S is required for the Chemistry stream

French Studies* – French 40S, Francais 40S, IB French or French AP

Geography* – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40Sis required for a Bachelor of Science

Kinesiology & Applied Health* – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S are required for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science

Mathematics* – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Physics* – Physics 40S and Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S; Chemistry 40S is required for the Physical Chemistry stream

Psychiatric Nursing – Chemistry 40S and either Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S are strongly recommended

Statistics – Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S

Theatre & Film: Dance Stream* – Audition with the School of Contemporary Dancers

* Possible teaching major/minor for Education students.
