Donna Szoke
Donna Szoke is an interdisciplinary artist currently residing in Vancouver. Her installations and single channel videos exhibit internationally. Show + Tell will include Mary, an animation based on the artist's grandmother who passed away before Szoke was born. Mary presents a version of the artist's grandmother that she invented as a child, created in an attempt to understand familial and cultural history. Embedded in this lamentation is a tribute to her family's lost Jewish heritage.
