Visiting Scholars Program
Introduction
The Visiting Scholar Meal Program recognizes that non-UWinnipeg students living at McFeetors Hall will be off campus far more often then UWinnipeg students. This program allows non-UWinnipeg students living at McFeetors Hall to purchase fewer meals per week on a Gift Card rather than a meal plan system.
Please read this PDF file for more information.
Price
Visiting scholars apply a minimum of $1680 dollars (this amount includes PST & GST) toward a Meal Gift Card. This amount is sufficient to cover approximately 2 meals per day for 16 weeks. This is a declining balance card similar to other gift cards, and is swiped at the till at the time of purchase. Additional funds can be added to the Gift Card at any time.
Please note:
The Visiting Scholar Meal Program is not a UWinnipeg meal plan. UWinnipeg student meal plan subscribers are eligible for a tax exempt status from the Provincial government, whereas non-UWinnipeg students are not. This means that whereas purchases made by UWinnipeg student Meal Plan cards are not taxed at the time of purchase, those made by the Meal Gift Cards are. For more information please contact Naomi Goertzen at 204-786-9070.
Also note that no meals will be served during the 2-week break in December when the University is closed.
