Macleans and Globe & Mail rank UWinnipeg in Canada's Top 10

The University of Winnipeg is singled out in the 2011 Maclean's magazine University Rankings as one of Canada's most innovative and successful campuses in fostering Indigenous scholarship and providing a respectful and relevant place for Indigenous students to learn.

In a special five-page spread, the national magazine features several UWinnipeg Aboriginal students and notes that Dr. Lloyd Axworthy's deep commitment to closing the graduation gap for Indigenous students is getting results. Aboriginal student applications jumped 24% at UWinnipeg this September over last.

The University of Winnipeg continues to be one of Canada's top undergraduate universities, particularly in the areas of diversity, quality of teaching and learning, and environmental commitment according to the Globe & Mail Canadian University Report 2012. For the second year, Globe researchers asked six “personality questions” and UWinnipeg students ranked their school 1st in Western Canada and in 5th among all 60 universities in Canada for diversity.
