Where Students Matter

This year the Faculty of Business and Economics in conjunction with the Winnipeg Business Community and individual donors have increased the amount of scholarships for all students in Business and Economics.

Some scholarships include:

Buhler Scholarship in Business and Economics

This award is granted to two students, one majoring in Economics and another in Business & Administration, who have high academic standing and participation in extra-curricular activies in school and community showing leadership qualities.  Two scholarships of $2500 each will be awarded.

Buhler Bursary in Business and Economics

This $10,000 bursary is awarded annually to a full-time student with a declared major in Business & Administration or Economics with demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic progress,with preference given to a single parent.  The bursary will cover full tuition and provide allowances for living expenses and book costs.  The bursary is renewable for three years at $5000 per year.  Applicants for this bursary must complete a special application form.

The Maria Graciete and Jose Correia Family Scholarship

This NEW Scholarship will be awarded to one or more students in either the Faculty of Business and Economics or the Faculty of Science (Faculty of Science preference given to students studying environment related issues) in any year of study (undergraduate or graduate), who have achieved high academic standing. Preference will be given to new immigrants to Manitoba of their family, and to employees of Bee Clean, or children and family members of Bee Clean Employees. This Scholarship s renewable for an additional three years. Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded.

The Downtown BIZ Kevin Donnelly Bursary for Business and Economics

This bursary, provided by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and past BIZ Chair, Kevin Donnelly, will be awarded annually yo a deserving student who is enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Economics and is also a member of the Business Administration Student's Association (BASA). Recipients must demostrate financial need and preference will be given to full time students. This bursary recognizes the importance of youth entrepreneurs in the field of Business and Economics, as they are central to the economic vitality, growth and revitalization of our downtown. One bursary of $500 will be awarded.

Manitoba Chartered Accountants Foundation Accounting Student Scholarship

This scholarship, provided by the MANITOBA CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS FOUNDATION, will be awarded to two students who have a declared major in Business & Administration and have completed at least 60 credit hours towards a 4-year BBA undergraduate degree with a concentration in Accounting.  Two scholarships of $2500 each will be awarded.

Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company Bursary in Finance

This bursary, provided by Wawanesa Insurance, will be awarded annually to two full-time students with financial need who have completed at least 30 credit hours and have a declared major in the 4-year BA or BBA in Economics & Finance.  Applicants for this bursary will complete a special application form.
