BA Honours

The Honours program is offered for students who especially enjoy the serious study of literature and believe they might want to pursue a graduate degree in English. Honours courses are designed to allow for more intensive student participation in the study of a wide range of subjects, including critical theory, women's writing, national literatures, and individual authors and topics. Our Honours program is delivered mainly through small seminars and provides solid advantages to students planning to pursue graduate studies in English (three of the Professors in our department are graduates of our Honours program), or journalism, media studies, women's studies, and other interdisciplinary academic and professional areas. Honours courses are also open to any qualified students who want a more personal and interactive education.

Sample Program
This is only an example of one possible path through the program. Paths will differ, depending on students' interests, the number of courses they take each year, and the Department's rotation of courses. Consult our current courses for available offerings. Students should also consult an advisor before each registration to ensure they are meeting all degree requirements.  For Degree requirements see the Course Calendar.
