Part-Time ESL Teacher Certificate Program (ESLTCP)

The Part Time ESL TCP is comprised of the following:
- 120 hours of TESL theory and
methodology which includes the following courses:
- Course #1 : Thinking about Theory: A Framework for EAL Instruction
- Course #2: Understanding the Language Skills: An Introduction to second language Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening
- Course #3: Developing the Language System: Teaching Grammar and Vocabulary
Note: Pre-requisites are course #1 and course #2.
- Course #4: Developing the Language Skills: Teaching Second Language Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
Note: Pre-requisites are course #1 and course #2.
- 20 hour ESL practicum, which includes:
10 hours of EAL classroom observation
10 hours supervised practicum
Please note: Course are offered on a rotational basis, and are all subject to minimum enrollment.

Teacher Certificate Program Practicum
The dates for practicum placements are variable. If you would like to register into the practicum placement, please do so by filling out the registration form, available on the Application and Registration page, and submitting it to the Program Office by mail, fax, or in person. Once you have completed this step, you will be contacted with more information about available practicum opportunities.
