Part-Time ESL Teacher Certificate Program (ESLTCP)

The Part Time ESL TCP is comprised of the following:

  • 120 hours of TESL theory and methodology which includes the following courses:

    • Course #1 : Thinking about Theory: A Framework for EAL Instruction

    • Course #2: Understanding the Language Classroom: Procedures for Effective Teaching

    • Course #3: Developing the Language System: Teaching Grammar and Vocabulary
      Note: Pre-requisites are course #1 and course #2.

    • Course #4: Developing the Language Skills: Teaching Second Language Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
      Note: Pre-requisites are course #1 and course #2.
  • 20 hour ESL practicum, which includes:

    •  10 hours of EAL classroom observation

    • 10 hours supervised practicum

Please note: Course are offered on a rotational basis, and are all subject to minimum enrollment.


 

Fall 2013 Term
