7 WEEK PROGRAM - January 9th- February 24th, 2012 (Canadian Work Experience Program)
Session #1 - Information
This program promotes high academic standards as students work to increase
their proficiency in English and to further their careers or education. Besides
teaching the four main language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and
writing, these programs also encourage learning through participation in
cultural and social events. As well, staff is specifically trained in second
language instruction and organize classes that are interesting, practical, and
fun.

Schedule:
Monday to Thursday : 9:00 am - 4:00 pm classes
Friday : 9:00am -12:00 pm classes
Friday 1:00 pm: Socio-cultural Activity
Age requirement: 16 years of age & older
Socio-Cultural Activities may include some of the following:
Hockey Game Curling lesson
Winter Fesitvals Bowling
Winnipeg Art Gallery SkiTrip to Asessippi
Aboriginal Culture session Tour of The Canadian Mint

Session # 2: Information
This program is an Canadian Work Experience program that allows students to gain valuable work experience for three weeks while studying in the English Language Program. Students will have the opportunity to speak English in a work setting. This opportunity will increase students understanding and appreciation for English.
Schedule
Weeks 1-4: Full time classes: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Weeks 5-7: Full time work placements 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Students will be introduced to the Canadian workplace through a series
of classes and work placements
in a variety of businesses around The University of Winnipeg. The program will finish with
presentations of student's experiences and graduation in week 7.
