Health Insurance

Many students come to Manitoba with health insurance from their own country. Please be advised that while it is a good ideal to purchase travel insurance, it is not a substitute for the Manitoba International Students Health Insurance.

All international students in the English Language Program must purchase Manitoba International Health Insurance through The University of Winnipeg. This insurance is provided by Great-West Life Assurance Company. All fees and policies are determined by Great-West Life, Group Policy Number 42074.

During orientation you must fill out the health insurance form. You need to pay for the insurance during the first week of classes at 491 Portage Avenue in the Annex Concourse  (where classes are held). This health coverage will cover you from the time you arrived in Winnipeg until the end of the term.
