August 2011 - The University of Winnipeg announced that the following six Faculty of Arts students had been selected as recipients of Canada Graduate Scholarships (Master's):

Caitlin Eliasson, English

Zoë Gross, Women's and Gender Studies

Erin Larson, Psychology

Sarah Livesey, English

Elan Marchinko, Sociology

Dylan Roberts, Politics

All of these awards are $17,500.


April 2010 - Congratulations Kendra Magnusson for winning the master's level competition of the 2010 Graduate Student Essay Award sponsored by the Children's Literature Association.

Kendra has been invited to submit her winning essay, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: Daniel Handler and Marketing the Author, to one of ChLA's journals and also to present at this year's annual ChLA conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, June 10-12, 2010.

Dr. Mavis Reimer is Kendra's sponsoring professor.
