Judith Kearns
Currently on leave, Judith Kearns has served as Director of the Centre for Academic Writing (1995-2001), Acting Dean of Humanities (2001-02), and Chair of the Department of Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications. She teaches Professional Style and Editing, Rhetorics of Gender, and Revolutions in Communications. Her research interests include the life-writing of early modern women, the history of writing instruction in Canada, and writing program curriculum and administration. With Brian Turner, she has co-authored articles on writing studies at the University of Winnipeg which have appeared in WPA: Writing Program Administration and the edited collections A Field of Dreams: Independent Writing Programs and the Future of Composition Studies and Writing Centres, Writing Seminars, Writing Cultures: Writing Instruction in Anglo-Canadian Universities.
