The Centre for Distributed/Distance Learning

Overview

The Centre for Distributed/Distance Learning (CDDL) provides access and flexibility via alternative course delivery methods for students in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and internationally.

The Centre delivers University of Winnipeg degree-credit, diploma and certificate courses and related support services for faculty and students.

Alternative course delivery programming falls under 4 categories:

  • Web-Based Program - delivery of video lectures via the web (VOD) and nexus.  VOD lectures are recorded live then later posted at http://vod.uwinnipeg.ca for viewing.  All lectures are available for the entire term.
  • LMS Online Program - delivery of course via nexus, the University of Winnipeg's learning management system.  Courses are available 24/7 and most are designed in modules that provide links to websites, images, powerpoint presentations, and interesting documents, etc.
  • Campus Manitoba Program - delivery via Blackboard Collaborate, nexus VOD, or combination
  • Blackboard Collaborate Program - synchronous delivery, real-time
