Discover the marvels of historical and contemporary art at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Drawing from the WAGs impressive collection of some 24,000 works of art, this 6-week course, led by WAG curatorial and education staff, will introduce you to key concepts in art history, provide special access to key areas of the Gallerys collection as well as personalized access to travelling exhibitions. such as Norman Rockwell: American Chronicles, the first exhibition of Norman Rockwells art ever held in Canada.
This course is programmed in connection with the WAGs Art for Lunch program. The first hour of the course (12:10pm-1:10pm) will be spent in the context of the Art for Lunch program. The second hour (1:10pm-2:10pm) is programmed exclusively for 55 Plus students. Second hour lectures will deepen students knowledge of topics and themes introduced in the first. Participants are free to bring their own bagged lunch or snack, but please note that no food is provided.
