UPON COMPLETION OF THIS PROGRAM YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
- Work in a variety of human resource positions and be able to assume greater levels of responsibility as they grow in their human resource capability.
- Understand and comply with the employer's legislative and legal obligations including workplace health and safety regulation, WHMIS legislation, the Worker's Compensation Act, payroll compliance legislation, and employment standards.
- Conduct organizational needs assessments, analyze and modify organizational staff development plans and develop effective recruitment strategies to attract talent that satisfies the organizational objectives.
- Foster a work environment that promotes productivity and employee satisfaction.
- Evaluate performance and communicate performance issues in a manner that encourages responsible and corrective action and manage disciplinary action proactively and thoroughly.

Human Resource Management Diploma Program Requirements
The program consists of three components: Core course, Elective courses, and Professional Edge Seminars. Students may take courses in any order as long as they have the required prerequisites, and they have up to five years to complete the 434 hours of study. Students may condense their studies by taking more than one course per term, or by enrolling in a full-time program.
To Graduate You Must:
1. Complete Core courses: (327 hours)
2. Complete two Elective courses from the following list: (72 hours)
3. Complete Professional Edge Seminars (35 hours)
Complete five, one-day seminars (7 hours) or a combination of one- and two-day (14 hours) seminars for a total of 35 hours.*
*Note: The University Writing and Research seminar is a required Professional Edge seminar for all certificate and diploma students who do not hold an undergraduate degree.
Articulation for Credit
Graduates of the Human Resource Management Diploma Program may be eligible for equivalent course credits towards an undergraduate degree at The University of Winnipeg.
