Web Development Diploma

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scene that enables the Internet to work? Students working on completing this diploma will learn about topics such as server side access, scripting, and data access. There is more to the Internet than utilizing it to display static information.


UPON COMPLETION OF THIS PROGRAM LEARNERS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Ability to create Web pages with leading edge skills like XHTML, CSS, and Javascript

  • Ability to use basic and advanced multimedia Flash programming (e.g. games)

  • Ability to install and configure freely available open-source software like the Apache Web server, server side programming languages like Perl and PHP, as well as relational databases like MySQL

  • Ability to create a functioning e-commerce Web site with a shopping cart

  • Have all the basic skills to continue to advanced topics like AJAX technologies

UNIX Administration (21 hours)

  • Linux Level 1

Web Design (144 hours)

  • Web Design Level 3: XHTML Introduction

  • Web Design Level 4: XHTML Advanced

  • Web Design Level 5: DHMTL Introduction

  • Web Design Level 6: DHTML Advanced

  • Web Design Level 7: XML

  • Web Design Level 8: Flash Introduction

  • Web Design Level 9: Flash Advanced

Web Development (175 hours)

  • Web Development Level 1: Apache Introduction

  • Web Development Level 2: Perl Introduction

  • Web Development Level 3: PHP Introduction

  • Web Development Level 4: MySql Introduction

  • Web Development Level 5: PHP Advanced

  • Web Development Level 6: MySql Advanced

  • Web Development Level 7: E-Commerce Portfolio Project

Technology Edge Topics (12 hours)
