This seminar is designed for students who are planning to take post-secondary education courses and do not have previous university education.  Participants will learn various aspects of academic writing, including the rhetorical situation, the writing process, effective research techniques, and proper documentation.


Objective:

Upon completion of this seminar, you will be able to:

  • understand elements of academic writing         
  • write an outline
  • conduct research effectively
  • use documentation styles properly
  • use elements of style and language appropriate for academic writing
     
This is a required seminar for all certificate and diploma students who do not hold an undergraduate degree.
