Educational Assistant Diploma Program

The Educational Assistant Diploma Program will develop your ability to offer support in the classroom; to resource teachers; and to exceptional children.

* We will be offering courses within the Seven Oaks School Division (SOSD) , Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) and Pembina Trails School Division (PTSD)

* We are pleased to recognize Educational Assistant courses offered through the Lord Selkirk School Division #11 Continuing Education.

Part Time Education Assistant Diploma Program

This program is primarily designed for part-time study with classes offered in the evenings and on Saturdays from September to June. Terms for the part time program start in September, January and April.

Limited space may be available for part time students in the full time program.

Full Time Educational Assistant Diploma Program

The Educational Assistant Diploma Program (EADP) is offered on a full-time basis two times per year. The Fall 2011 program runs from September 12 - March 2 (includes practicum).  The Winter 2012 course will be offered in February 2, 2012 - June 29, 2012. (includes practicum)  

Tuition fee for the Winter program is $4,440 which includes all course materials. This 348-hour plus program includes a Learning Techniques workshop, Team Building workshop.


Further Information

Students may take classes in the Educational Assistant Diploma Program without pursuing the Diploma.

2010/2011 TIMETABLE 

Please note students may not hold credit for both the 30 hour Core Course "Working with Challenging Behaviours" and the former 15 hour Elective courses "Behaviour Management of Individual Students" and "Group Behaviour Management". Students accepted to the EADP prior to October 1, 2006 may receive a total of 30 Elective hours for the 30 hour Core Course "Working with Challenging Behaviours" and one of the 15 hour courses "Behaviour Management of Individual Students" and "Group Behaviour Management".

Graduates of the Educational Assistant Diploma Program may be eligible for credit in The University of Winnipeg Bachelor of Education Program.
