The weather in June is often quite warm. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and cool clothing.

4: What time will the doors open?

Doors to Duckworth Centre open one hour before each ceremony begins.

5: How long will the Convocation Ceremony last?

Each ceremony is approximately two and a half hours in length followed by a reception on Spence Street Promenade. The reception takes place outdoors, so please bring an umbrella if it's a rainy day.

6: What if I am participating in the ceremony and have limited mobility or special needs?

The Academic Procession follows a route that involves quite a bit of walking and many stairs (some without hand rails). Students are asked to call 204.786.9745 if you feel this may be a concern and alternate procession arrangements can easily be made.

We strongly advise students or guests who have limited mobility or special needs to arrive early. Doors open one hour before the ceremony begins.

7: What if guests have limited mobility and need special seating or parking?

We strongly advise students or guests who have limited mobility or special needs to arrive early. Doors open one hour before the ceremony begins.

Guests with limited mobility may be dropped-off at the entrance of Duckworth Centre on Spence Street, however vehicles will need to be park elsewhere. Traffic on Spence Street is strictly limited to vehicles dropping-off guests with special needs or limited mobility.

Guests with special needs who require special seating should speak to the ushers when they arrive and they will be seated appropriately. Please note that the University does not provide wheelchairs.
