Landmines Youth Symposium

Thank you for registering for The University of Winnipeg's youth symposium, No More Landmines. To help you prepare for the symposium we are sending you an information backgrounder on the landmines situation in the world today and on the Ottawa Treaty to Ban Landmines. Please take time to read the information package in advance of the symposium on November 30th.

Familiarity with the issues will help you contribute to the discussions that day and to the formulation of the symposium's recommendations. These recommendations will be framed as responses to two questions (see backgrounder). They will be presented at an international symposium on landmines in Waterloo Ontario, a Global Town Hall in Ottawa on December 1st and 3rd, and subsequently published for public view.

The symposium will include speakers (visit the website for a full list and bios), small group workshops, free lunch and entertainment. The symposium will begin promptly at 9 a.m. with breakfast and registration between 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. at the entrance the Riddell Hall cafeteria. (see attached map)
