Arcane Horizon Arcane Horizon Inc.
www.arcanehorizon.org

Arcane Horizon Inc. is a not for profit organization incorporated on July 19,1995 to support two men to live in their own home in the community. The agency was formed when the parents of these two men determined they could develop a more suitable support model for their sons. These parents with the assistance of Family Services, Association for Community Living and Prairie Places Inc. founded the agency. The agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors predominantly comprised of family members of individuals we support. The agency was founded on the Gentle Teaching Philosophy – this means that our first task is to build a bridge of companionship between those whom we serve and their support network. We build on our belief that all people have a deep longing to feel at home with others, and are called to come together in a spirit of companionship and community.

Worker's Compensation Board of Canada

Worker's Compensation Board of Canada
www.wcb.mb.ca

The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba was founded in 1916 with the passing of The Workers Compensation Act and officially opened in 1917. The program is the result of a Canadian compromise struck in the early twentieth century and maintained to this day – injured workers gave up the right to sue their employers in exchange for guaranteed no-fault benefits in the event of a work related injury or illness, and employers agreed to pay for the system, in exchange for protection against lawsuits. The WCB is committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce with equitable representation of Aboriginal persons, visible minorities, persons with disabilities and women. Applicants are encouraged to indicate in their cover letter or resume if they are a member of these groups.

The Y is best known for our work with youth and in promoting health, but we also provide opportunities for people to develop leadership skills, philanthropic attitudes and a global perspective – many of the tools needed for value-based personal development. We are the province’s largest childcare provider and offer a rich learning experience of camp to 5,000 youth each year. Our employment training and women’s programs are sought after by more than 4,000 people. More importantly, the Y, and all that we offer, is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
