Important Dates and Deadlines

 

Spring/Summer 2013

March 15 –- Approximate time by which students can apply to the Manitoba Student Aid Program  (MSAP) for the Spring/Summer Session. For out of province students, please refer to your Provincial government student aid branch  for application information.

May 6 – Spring/Summer session begins. Also the Spring Term Tuition Fee Payment  deadline.

NOTE: All government student aid recipients relying on their government funding to pay their tuition fees should read the Tuition Fee Deferral section of our Government Student Aid Information webpage.

May 13 - Convocation Awards Nomination deadline (UW staff only).


June 6 & 7
- Spring Convocation.

June 14 - General Bursary application deadline for the Spring/Summer session.


Fall/Winter 2013-14

March 1 –- Date by which high school students should apply for admissions to be considered for a Special Entrance Scholarship.

April 1 –-  Entrance Scholarship Application deadline.

April 2 - The University of Winnipeg President's World Leaders Scholarship Application deadline.

May 15 –- Deadline to apply for a German-Canadian Studies Fellowships.

June 3 - Deadline to apply for the Graham Dixon Memorial Award and the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University Scholarships.

June –- Approximate time by which students can apply for Manitoba Student Aid  for the Fall term and/or Fall/Winter academic session. Official date will be posted once confirmed. For out of province students, please refer to your Provincial government student aid branch  for application information.

July 24 - Final date to file paper Government Student Aid applications to avoid late payment fees in September.

August 14 - Final date to file on-line Government Student Aid applications to avoid late payment fees in September.

August 16 - Sir William Stephenson Scholarship and Dr. and Mrs. Roderick Hunter Scholarship Application  deadline.

August 23 -  Opportunity Fund Fast-Track Bursary application deadline.

August 28 - Date when the Awards & Financial Aid Office will begin signing Confirmation of Enrollment Forms (Schedule 2s) for previous government student loan recipients who are still attending the UW but will not be receiving Government Student Aid in the 2013-14 academic year. The forms are available from our office, 1C22 or 1C22A, 1st Floor-Centennial Hall.

Late August - Deadline to submit a Work-Study position request (for UW Staff).

September 4 - Fall and Fall/Winter terms begin. Also the Tuition Fee Payment deadline.

September 16 - In-Course Awards & Bursaries application deadline.

September 17 - Final date to drop Fall and Fall/Winter courses for 100% refund.

October 4 -  In-Course Scholarships application deadline.

October 4 - Tuition fee payment deadline for Government Student Aid recipients who applied for funding before August 14, 2013.

October 31 - Final date for application to the Manitoba Student Aid Program and submission of all documentation for students registered in the 2013 Fall Term only.

Mid-November - The  Work Study Application deadline (for students).

End of November /early December - Approximate time in which refund cheques will be mailed to registered students with credits on their account as a result of government student aid overpayment or receipt of an award.

December 2 - Date by which students applying for Government Student Aid for the Winter Term only should apply to avoid late fees.

December 23 - University is closed.

January 2 - University re-opens. January 6 - Winter term courses begin. Also the tuition fee payment deadline for Winter term.

January 31 - General Bursary application deadline for the Fall/Winter or Winter sessions.

February 2 - Last date by which students can apply for Government Student Aid for the 2012-13 Fall/Winter or 2013 Winter Term. 

February 6 - Winter term tuition fee payment deadline for Government Student Aid recipients on the Tuition Fee Deferral list (for those who applied for funding before December 2, 2013).

February 23 - Final date by which students who applied for Government Student Aid must submit outstanding documents (such as the Income Form).
