Speed Mentoring

1 hour Speed Mentoring Session

• Upon registration all mentors and mentees will be given a list of suggested topics and questions.  These are only suggested topics, but may help the flow of communication between mentors and mentees
• At each table there will be 1 mentor and 5 mentees.  This number could change based on our registration numbers.
• The mentor will be given 5 minutes to speak about their Career and provide advice to mentees
• The whistle will then sounds, indicating the mentor’s speaking turn is over
• The table of mentees will then be given 3 minutes to ask the mentor as many questions as possible.  We will ask mentors to keep their response to one minute long.  A time warning will be given every minute during question period
• After 3 minutes the whistle will blow and all the mentees will go to the next table in a clockwise order.
• The whistle will blow again, and the mentor may begin speaking
• This format is followed for a full hour

Note: Using this format mentees will be able to meet with six different mentors in an hour.  Depending on the number of mentors and mentors we can adjust the time frames and number of mentees at each table.

After the speed Mentoring session

• Half an hour of wine and cheese and mingling
• This will allow mentees to seek out and speak with mentors they found most interesting
