Who are Adult Learners?

Adult Learners are at least 21 years of age and have taken a break of three or more years from formal education.  They come to The University of Winnipeg from a variety of backgrounds with diverse educational and work experiences.

Adult learners may have left high school early and returned at a later date to graduate with grade 12; or started at a post-secondary institution right out of high school, then had to leave and after a significant time out are now returning to university; or sometimes they always wanted to attend university but never did.

Adult Learners are often people with busy lives and many responsibilities; sometimes they face a few extra challenges.  Read about the journeys of some adult learners at The University of Winnipeg:
