Accepted International Students
What’s University Like?
Programs at The University of Winnipeg typically run from September to April.
Many students attend Fall Term (Sept to Dec) and Winter Term (Jan to Apr), and take a break to work or travel during the Spring Term. However, some students do take courses during the Spring Term which has a limited number of course offerings.
Most programs here are not laid out in a year-by-year format. You are given some freedom to choose when and which courses to take. You make your own course choices and create your own timetable.
This Accepted Student Website will guide you on how to do this. After you've worked your way through the website, you can email Lee Hong, International Academic Advisor, for feedback or assistance.
Language proficiency in English is required for admission to a bachelor’s degree program. If you have been admitted ‘Conditionally’ to the English Language Program (ELP), you have met the academic but not English language requirements. Once you have successfully completed Academic Level 5 in the ELP you will move directly into university studies. Your first point of contact at The University of Winnipeg will be the English Language Program. Check with them directly if you have any questions about your term of entry.
