Homestay
The University of Winnipeg has had an active and successful Homestay Family Program for many years.
Host families are screened carefully and selected by a University staff coordinator who stays in close contact with you and your new family for the duration of your stay.
You can expect a private room and will likely share a bathroom with the rest of the family. A single bed, sheets, blankets, towels, and a study area will be provided for you.
Students are encouraged to apply early, as this program is only available on a limited basis.
The application form, along with details on deadlines and processes, is available at this site:

A couple of websites for student housing are listed below. If you choose to rent in the community, most landlords will ask you to sign a lease. A lease can be a month-to-month arrangement or a 12-month arrangement. This is a binding, legal agreement between you and the landlord. READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING!!
Initial payment is half a month’s rent for a damage deposit in addition to the first month’s rent. Most apartments are unfurnished, so you will be required to purchase household goods as well.
