JUNIOR WESMEN PROGRAM ANNOUNCES 18-25 COLLEGE MEN’S TEAM, FORMER WESMEN GREAT LUC BULLER TO COACH

Thursday, July 13, 2006 - The Junior Wesmen program is pleased to announce it is expanding its program for young men aged 18-25 for the Fall-Winter 2006-2007 season. The men’s team will play a minimum 26 game schedule against Canadian and US collegiate teams from North Dakota, Minnesota, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The Junior Wesmen will also compete against teams in the Central Plains Athletic Conference including Red River, Canadian Mennonite University and St. Boniface College.

It was also announced that former Wesmen great Luc Buller will be the head coach of the team. Buller, played for the Wesmen for five seasons (1996-2001) and was named a GPAC conference all-star in 1998-99. Luc was a tremendous scorer out of River East Collegiate and is looking forward to the upcoming season.

"There are lots of exceptional players in Winnipeg and that will allow us to compete against both U.S. and Canadian colleges", said Buller.

Tryouts will be held the second week of September. Specific dates will be made available at www.wesmen.ca. The team will be looking for young student athletes aged 18-25 attending the University of Winnipeg.
