NASAJPOUR NAMED CANADA WEST MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Monday, November 27, 2006 - Erfan Nasajpour, the "heart and soul" of the Wesmen and current Canada West scoring leader has been named the Canada West Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov 26, 2006.

In Saturday’s 84-79 overtime victory against Simon Fraser, Nasajpour scored a career-high 45 points, one shy of the all-time Wesmen record for most scored in a game, added seven rebounds, six assists and had eight steals while playing all 45 minutes.

Nasajpour’s 45-point performance is currently the most scored in a Canada West conference game this season, and helped him take over the lead in scoring, with 26.0 ppg, and steals, with five per contest.

In Friday’s 91-87 loss to Trinity Western, the fourth-year Arts student scored a game-high 26 points, added 11 assists and came away with eight steals, while grabbing eight rebounds.

At 3-5, the Wesmen will next see action this Thursday when they travel to Brandon to begin a home-and-home series with the Great Plains Division-leading Brandon Bobcats (7-1).
