RICK SCOTT TO JOIN WESMEN WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM COACHING STAFF
Tuesday, June 20, 2006 – University of Winnipeg women’s volleyball head coach Diane Scott is pleased to announce that Rick Scott will be joining the Wesmen women’s volleyball team as an assistant coach this coming season.
Scott, the current Head Coach of the Lord Selkirk Varsity Girl's Volleyball Team, and back to back MHSAA 4A Provincial Champions will join the Wesmen Women for the opportunity to share his coaching experience and develop through the CIS experience.
Rick was recently named 2006 Manitoba Volleyball Association Developmental Coach of the Year, for all of his dedication and successful commitment of age group development through his club program. Last summer, Rick was an assistant coach with the Silver Medal winning Team Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games in Regina, which included current Wesmen players Jayme Menzies and Claire Willerton. A number of players have come out of Scott's volleyball program and have gone on to play university volleyball including current Wesmen Marlee Bragg who was named the Canada West Rookie of the Year.
