Dr. Stefanie Czub is the Head of Pathology and the National BSE Reference Laboratory at the National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease (NCFAD) of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), located at the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Dr. Czub hails from West Germany and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine followed by a Ph.D. from the Veterinary School of the Free University of Berlin, Germany.

She continued her Postdoctoral fellowship as a Fogarty scholar at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Rocky Mountain Laboratory in Hamilton, Montana, followed by a position as a Research Scientist at the Institute of Pathology of the Medical School, Julius-Maximilians University, Wuerzburg, Germany, and as a member of the German SIV consorted research cooperation, funded by the German Ministry of Research and Technology.

She is a member of the Canadian TSE Expert Advisory Group, Canadian Association of Veterinary Pathologists and College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
